The Pitch Episode 52:
Knowledge is Power

Read:

Where do you get your confidence? Confidence is the assurance that what you are saying is true, so it absolutely matters where you draw your confidence when pitching. Before you pitch, if you did not come up with the pitch on your own or if you are working in a team, and a script was handed to you, check the facts and do your own research on the subject matter before you blindly start pitching something that’s not familiar to you. If you have the first-hand knowledge on an issue you can be more persuasive and handle the rebuttal, if put in that position, because you will have confidence backing you. “The Pitch” challenge today: knowledge is power in pitching but also life. Don’t let the fear of the unknown paralyze you from confidently taking action. Identify any area in your life where you are not moving forward in confidence due to lack of knowledge. Stop, and take the research step. Researching an issue doesn’t mean you have to make a decision to move forward, it will just give you the confidence when you are ready to make your move.
