What an extraordinary opportunity to go beyond the pages of LIFT and into a room halfway across the world filled with leaders willing to challenge the way we think about mentorship, growth, and our responsibility to elevate others.
During my visit to Bangalore, India, I had the opportunity to lead a three-hour LIFT workshop at the headquarters of Natural Remedies with more than 30 managers gathered to explore how mentorship can be practiced more intentionally as part of their leadership style.
One of the touchpoints we explored was Provide Purpose—helping managers connect daily work to meaning, contribution, and long-term impact. The topic aligned closely with Natural Remedies’ values and JOE (Journey of Empowerment), the life-skills framework developed by Managing Director and Consciousness Gardener, Anurag Agarwal, that emphasizes being useful, winning together, declaring and pursuing goals, and not dropping the value.
As I moved from leadership conversations with the management team to experiencing the magic in the R&D labs where new ideas are tested and touring the manufacturing plant where those ideas come to life at scale, I gained a deeper appreciation for how connected the people of Natural Remedies are to their purpose. The best part of the visit was witnessing firsthand the happiness that comes from people understanding the value of their work and how it contributes to something bigger than themselves.
I arrived to share LIFT. I left with a much deeper understanding of the culture, values, and vision that have shaped Natural Remedies for more than half a century—and an even stronger belief that purpose is one of the most powerful tools a leader can provide.
