Starting your workweek can be hectic if you don’t have an established routine. Before you dive into your pitch workweek, establish a routine that signals to your mind you are shifting from the weekend to the workweek. This might involve a combination of rules including getting to bed early on Sunday so you can get started earlier on Monday. Maybe you start your Monday with mediation to set an intention for your week. Or maybe you refresh and reprioritize your to-do list. “The Pitch” challenge today: Develop a habitual routine to signal the start of your workweek and take an inventory of any habits or activities that are hindering a successful start. Establishing rules for Sunday to protect your Monday, like ceasing from doing any work on Sunday so you are fresh and ready to go on Monday, can help as long as you follow your own rules. I’m guilty of not following this weekend rule, working too hard on Sunday, and then being totally burned out on Monday. It never puts me ahead but rather puts a damper on my whole week. Routines rule and can set you up for a productive workweek, but only if you follow your own rules.
